Burnley vs Tottenham: Alli's penalty rescues Spurs from defeat at Turf Moor

- Burnley vs Tottenham's Premier League clash ended in a stalemate

- Dele Alli's second half penalty saves Jose Mourinho's blushes after playing 1-1 at Turf Moor

- Chris Wood gave the hosts the lead in the 13th minute but failed to build on it.

Dele Alli's 50th-minute spot-kick was all Tottenham Hotspur needed to avoid their fifth straight defeat in all competitions. The 23-year-old midfielder sent Nick Pope the wrong way to restore parity for the visitors just five minutes into resumption. Spurs' top-four chase has now suffered another major set back after failing to close the gap between them and fourth-place Chelsea with the season gradually drawing to a close. Burnley got the game off to a bright start as they looked to rattle their guests in the early minutes of the encounter.
However, their plan to grab an early goal did not work with Jose Mourinho's men keeping decent shape at the back. The away team could not hold off for longer as Chris Wood fired a superb close-range volley beyond Hugo Lloris' reach in the 13th minute. Wood who returned to the team after some time off benefited from Eric Dier's poor header in an attempt to clear a dangerous attacking move from the hosts.

The north Londoners found their way back into the game shortly after resumption with Alli tenderly placing the ball into the right corner of the post. Erik Lamela won the penalty for his side after been tripped by Ben Mee after making a run to connect with Giovani Lo Celso's pass.
The draw has however ended the run of losses by Mourinho's men as they shift focus to the second leg of their Champions League clash against RB Leipzig next week.
Spurs are also eighth on the table with 41 points after 29 matches, and they might end up not qualifying for any European tournament if this run continues. Talltrends.blogspot.com earlier reported that Harry Kane would opt to become a Manchester United player instead of remaining with Tottenham as Jose Mourinho continues to rebuild the North London team. Having spent about a decade with the club, Kane has scored record 181 goals but has no trophy to show for it. According to Spurs Chief Daniel Levy, the club is doing everything to keep the player at the club, but he could leave if they fail to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Just In: Chinese Doctors still arrive Nigeria against Nigerian Medical Association's wishes.

Against the wishes of the Nigerian Medical Association, their Chinese counterpart have just arrived the country numbering well over fifteen. Photo Speak: A cross section of the Chinese doctors on arriving Nigeria. To them its an embarrassing and regrettable situation that only shows how much faith that the government has on its capable medical work force. They further argued that it was an embarrassment to the country in that they have put in a lot in the fight against Covid-19 under very challenging circumstances, considering a fragile healthcare system and deplorable facilities. The situation rather calls for a speedy look into issues concerning inadequate test kits and unavailable PPE's rather than inviting the Chinese for technical assistance as they them selves are yet to get out of the woods, one of the doctors said. The Chinese doctors are to work closely with the Nigerian Center for Disease Control as ordered by the government. However, there are unsubstantia...
